enlighten Bi is a map centric visualisation portal that incorporates, aerial imagery, mapping data, pictures, cc-tv and video into a single view point. This data is viewed with contextual location along with attribute navigation. More powerfully when combined with business data it delivers real information to the users browser device anywhere anytime.
enlighten Bi provides powerful visualisation capabilities delivered through a map, moreover it contains a flexible Integration Portal built on industry standard Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP).
The Integration Portal enables seamless integration to corporate applications, this integration is achieved through standard Relational Database concepts of common keys between the relevant data.
The enlighten Bi - Integration Portal contains three levels of integration;
Level 1 – Direct Data Access (DDA)
To achieve this level of integration the data model of the target application needs to be accessible by enlighten Bi. The Entity Relationship (ER) diagram needs to be available and a good understanding of the data within.
enlighten Bi provides direct reference to this data through a Windows data-source, once established the data is available for Searches, Forms and Reporting within enlighten Bi.
Creating basic Forms and Searches directly into mission critical corporate databases, reduces the need for query/view user licensing to achieve quick data visualisation and map integration.
With the right database permissions DDA can be setup in minutes for administrators to create the data access needed.
Level 2 – Application to Application Launching (AAL)
Mission critical corporate applications are full-featured systems that cannot be replaced or substituted without reinventing the wheel. AAL allows the administrator to reference the Corporate Application and describe the relevant screens within the application that need to be integrated with the map.
This is achieved either through a simple URL string that is passed to the target application or through a bespoke COM/DCOM container that invokes the target application.
In both of these approaches the Relational Keys that join the map data with the corporate data is passed through either the URL (for single or short messages < 2083 characters) or through an XML SOAP message for larger lists.
Advanced integrations between Engineering, Spatial and Corporate Applications are often encountered within Cadastral and Asset Management. The ability to keep Cadastral, Asset and Spatial data sets synchronized is the holy grail of managing this information well.

enlighten Bi utilizes spatial functions in Oracle to deliver advanced spatial analytics directly to a browser. Using the power of server side computing to perform complex spatial analysis allows enlighten Bi to return results to an internet browser, on any browser supported device, anytime anywhere.
Spatial data within Oracle is stored in accordance with the OGC Standards, spatial functions are SQL functions that can either result in a traditional list or in a map.
Access to spatial functionality of this nature reduces the dependency on costly desktop software.
Advanced A0 Plotting from a Browser
Create advanced plot designs using your own layouts, images, text (which is static or derived from a database), legends, north arrows etc. to build a template that can be used in a multi-user environment to request and produce PDF plots.
The template is created in AutoCAD and stored in Oracle to be used by the enlighten Bi – Plot Services. While the template features remain constant the data is context sensitive and reflects the users current choice.
An administrator can create applications that utilize these plots, these applications can be tailored to allow the user to enter data that is transposed onto the plot, as well as producing multiple page plots for almost any purpose.
Geo-Manage all unmanaged files, photos not in EDMS
As the portfolio of business related photos, cc-tv, operations manuals and miscellaneous documents increase in volume on network drives, organizations need to catalog this information in an orderly manner.
Accepting that most Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS), do not want to be cluttered with these types of documents, enlighten Bi – enFact allows the spatial geocoding of these documents so that they appear on a map relevant to the location where the document relates.
